Course Summary
This course is for job seekers with clarity about the type of job they are looking for, but who are rusty or unsure of the mechanics of an effective search. The course content and live sessions will enable you to increase your knowledge about how to prepare materials, manage the logistics of your job search and leverage the most effective techniques for landing a job outside of academia.
Note: This course is not focused on the specifics of finding academic jobs or federal government jobs, but rather jobs in industry and non-profits. If you are still fuzzy about the type of job you are seeking, or unsure about how your qualifications translate in a new career area, I recommend that you start with the AWAKEN. Through my company, Smart Career Design LLC, I provide specialized career and life coaching to people with doctoral degrees (PhDs, EdDs, etc.) - from any discipline and at all stages of their careers. My services are all offered online to individuals and small groups.
In addition to earning my doctorate, an EdD in Higher Education from The George Washington University, I am an ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and a Certified Mentor Coach (CMC). To achieve this level of recognized life coaching credentials, I completed 140+ hours of coaching training through MentorCoach LLC, successfully completed their rigorous written and coaching performance evaluations as well as the ICF Credentialing exam. I am currently enrolled in a 9- month Certificate in Applied Positivist Psychology through the Flourishing Center.
